The Bela-Bela 75MW Solar PV Project, awarded to ACTOM Contracting, marks a milestone as the ACTOM Group’s first solar photovoltaic initiative. Located 8.5 kilometres east of Bela-Bela in Limpopo Province, the facility is designed to generate renewable electricity for the Eskom grid. By implementing advanced 132kV collector and switching infrastructure, the project supports South Africa’s ambitious clean-energy targets.
Under a turnkey interconnection contract, ACTOM Contracting is the primary subcontractor to Cox Energy South Africa (Pty) Ltd, the client and EPC contractor. The project is scheduled for completion on 7 April 2027. ACTOM Contracting’s scope includes the engineering, construction, and commissioning of all grid infrastructure required to integrate the Bela-Bela Solar PV plant into South Africa’s national grid.
Scope of Work
The project comprises three major infrastructure components enabling robust and effective grid integration:
- Warmbad MTS Extension (132kV & 275kV Integration Works)
- New 132kV Bela-Bela Switching Station
- 132/33kV IPP Substation
